East Devon AONB - Sustainable Development Fund
Click here to find out how the Sustainable Development Fund, a new grant scheme available within the East Devon AONB, can support your projects which bring social, environmental and economic benefits to this, your local, protected landscape.
It aims to develop and test new methods of achieving a more sustainable way of life in this area of great beauty and diversity. The fund is delivered locally by the East Devon AONB team on behalf of Natural England and the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs.
Please discuss any proposals with a member of the AONB team on 01404 46663- either Chris Woodruff, Pete Youngman or Kimmo Evans. The fund operates on a 'first come - first served basis' and runs across the financial year

A small grant scheme aimed at encouraging local people to carry out positive improvements to their environment. Due to funding constraints, this is currently no longer available, although we are looking at ways of generating income which can then be paid back into local projects. SW Co-ordinated Woodfuels project
The South West Protected Landscapes are pooling Sustainable Development Fund monies to provide grants for increasing capacity on the ground of new biomass boilers, particularly for businesses or community buildings where there can be some public benefits. Click here for a quick and easy guide to small scale biomass heating projects (<200kW). This was produced by the Centre for Sustainable Energy and is also part of a SW Woodland Renaissance initiative to also improve supply and skills in the woodland sector for meeting increased demand. Sustainable woodland management is essential to conserving and enhancing our finest landscpaes.

Arts Council - Be inspired by your landscape
The South West Protected Landscapes Forum and Arts Council SW have collaborated to produce a guide and website celebrating good practice in enironmental art and provides detailed guidance for practitioners thinking of developing art projects.
Devon Renaissance
Devon Renaissance seeks to tackle a number of themes affecting rural communities across Devon. Local authorities and SWRDA have joined forces with a wide range of other community and business partners to set up a funding programme.

Forestry Commission - England Woodland Grant Scheme

In England the Forestry Commission offers grants through the Woodland Grant Scheme (EWGS). British woodlands and forests are a major part of the landscape of Great Britain and provide essential habitats for much of our wildlife. They play an important part in the economy providing jobs and economic benefit for rural communities. The England Woodland Grant Scheme (EWGS) gives grants to create new woodlands and manage existing woodlands. |
