The East Devon AONB Partnership is a joint initiative funded by East Devon District Council, Devon County Council and Natural England, working to help conserve and manage the East Devon AONB.

The principal aims of the Partnership are

  • Promote the AONB and the Management Strategy to all the constituent organisations and others.
  • Co-ordinate work towards a vision for the AONB via the implementation of the Management Strategy.
  • Review and monitor progress of the Strategy and its objectives.
  • Consider, debate and recommend courses of action on the main issues relating to the AONB.
  • Accommodate new requirements due to changes in AONB legislation.
The Partnership membership is representative of the following land-owning, environmental and community interests in the AONB.

The AONB Partnership guides the implementation of the AONB Management Strategy and directs the work of the AONB Team via a Steering Group.

The AONB Steering Group comprises funding partners (Natural England, East Devon District Council and Devon County Council) together with the AONB Team and holds executive powers for the AONB Partnership and Team.The relationship between the AONB Partnership, AONB Steering Group and AONB Team is demonstrated here.
