Walking Festival - Donkey Sanctuary and Jurassic Coast 3 miles or 8.5 miles

Friday 29th September 10:30am

18. Donkey Sanctuary and Coast Path circular 3 miles or 8.5 miles

Start: 10:30am
End: 3 miles walk approx 12:30pm
End: 8.5 miles walk approx 4pm Donkey Sanctuary, Slade House Farm, Sidmouth EX10 0NU; SY159894

The first part of our walks leads through fields of the Donkey Sanctuary to the coast path at Dunscombe cliffs Avoiding the steep descent and ascent of this part of the coast we head back to the Sanctuary passing the intriguing Hermit House. On our walk through the Sanctuary we will learn how their land is managed as part of the Higher Level Environmental Stewardship Scheme.
Those on the short walk leave us here and may wish to spend time at the Sanctuary to see the donkeys and have lunch in the new restaurant. For the rest we head back out to the coast via Weston to our picnic lunch spot. We continue along the Jurassic coast before heading inland, passing through Branscombe – the longest village in England.

This walk is part of Sidmouth and East Devon Walking Festival
