In the steps of the unbuilt Colyton Canal

Meet in St Andrews Churchyard, Market Place, Colyton,  EX24 6JS, Grid Reference 246 941

A journey back in time, in the Umborne valley between Colyton and Shute Junction, to  trace the route of a Bridgwater – Beer canal which was planned in the 19 century but never built. Also search for the ruins of Colyton’s river swimming pool built by the Poles of the Shute Estate. Ken Clifford, local historian will share this piece of hidden history he has recently unearthed. No booking required. Wear stout shoes, keep legs covered (tick aware), sunscreen, sun hats and bring drink. Meet in St Andrews Churchyard, Market Place, Colyton,  EX24 6JS, Grid Reference 246 941
