West-East: Stage1: Exmouth – Woodbury Castle (7.5 miles) Walking West to East – start your walk from the railway station car park and go north, with the estuary on your left, on the new cycleway alongside the Exe Estuary to Lympstone and then east up onto the pebblebed heaths to Woodbury Castle.
East-West: This is your destination – Exmouth – congratulations! Welcome to Exmouth, the largest town in East Devon, nestled on the River Exe and on the Dorset and East Devon World Heritage Site ‘Jurassic Coast’.
Public transport: Avocet Line rail connection from Exeter St Davids. Bus connections to Exmouth include 56, 56A and 157. Nearest bus stop to Woodbury castle is Woodbury Village 56, 56A.
By car: Start/End: at the Estuary Long stay car park near Exmouth train station on The Royal Ave (EX8 1EN). Pay and display parking adjacent to Exmouth railway station. End/Start: Pebblebed Heaths Conservation Trust car park at Woodbury Castle (EX5 1JJ) just off the B3180.
