Acland Award

In every part of our AONB there are amazing things happening that make a huge difference to local communities and positively impact our outstanding landscape. The Acland Award helps us celebrate these initiatives and give them the public recognition that they deserve.

Since 2013, the Acland Award has been presented annually by the East Devon AONB Partnership as a mark of excellence; recognising the best of environmental, economic and community-focused activity taking place within our Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.

With a new theme each year, the award highlights the range and diversity of local efforts and publicly celebrates the dedication, innovation and passion of outstanding individuals, projects and East Devon enterprise.

Acland Award 2020

This year the Acland Award is celebrating individuals that are playing a key role in enabling others to gain a greater understanding, awareness, experience and enjoyment through their connection with nature and our environment.

We know from lots of research, that by directly connecting with nature and our environment, we are far more likey to value it and act in a way that is likely to have a positive impact on it in the future.

With climate change and extinction rebellion high on the agenda, now more than ever, this is an opportune time to celebrate people in our communities that are serving to inspire others and make a real difference.

Nominate an individual that you think is making a difference in your community for the chance to receive the East Devon AONB Acland Award – connecting with nature comes in all shapes and sizes – perhaps through facilitating conservation in the landscape, providing or enhancing green spaces, inspiring young people or others in the community to learn more about the wildlife around us, mentoring or guiding experiences in nature – the list is endless.

If you’d like to chat through any ideas you have for making a nomination, or have any further questions, please get in touch. Email or call 01404 46663.
